Hi folks,

I know these posts are annoying with all the helpful guides out there to identify your motor year but I’m in a bit of a pickle.

I was given a Mercury motor with no cowl or markings on it, it does have the serial # however (serial # 3551809). I’m wanting to part it out but there’s a couple serial ranges this could fit. It’s a mid size motor and definitely older and I believe the gentleman that gave it to me said it was a 60HP but there’s no serial ranges that suggest that. Are there any other ways to tell?

thanks for all your help.

Also for the 1973 65hp

Is it a 3 or 4 cylinder engine?

Is the cowl missing?

Appreciate you guys looking into this. It is a 3 cylinder engine. There wasn’t a cowl.

In my upinion this is not one of the best efforts by Mercury.-------There are better models available in most areas of the land.
