Just bought a '94 Jeep Cherokee for my kid that needs a front bumper cover. Any idea on what has to be done to replace this thing? I have the plastic cover but have not had the time to really look things over and see what needs to come apart to get the new one on. Does the grill have to come off? Thanks in advance.

Re: Another auto body question

The grille will be attached to a grille mounting panel that runs the width of the vehicle. It also holds the lights. So, if you can avoid removing that panel, I would recommend it.
Mitchell estimating says it's a 2.1 hour job to remove & replace the front cover. It's a 2.3 hour job to remove & reinstall that panel, plus an additional .3 hours to remove the bumper cover.
So it sounds to me like it's a 2.1 hour job alone, and about 2.6 if you remove the mounting panel. Look it over, it may be easier to remove that whole panel just to make it easier to get to the bumper cover.

Thanks...been so busy that I still haven't had time to look it over, but did discover that I am going to need the plastic "skirt" or whatever you can it inside one of the fender wells. Just couldn't see how to get to the plastic fasteners that secure the top of the bumper cover without taking the grill assembly off. Sure would like to avoid that.

Relentless, yeah, it's one of those deals... You'll see in my first sentence I said, "don't take off the grille", I wrote that before I looked up the times in my labor guide. Taking the grille & stuff off may suck all on it's own, but it will surely make removing the bumper cover easier. Good luck
