There seems to be no end to the amount of bayliners with problems found on forums, and people both defending them and trashing them. I want to get into boating, but realistically probably 5 to 7 times a year on the Chesapeak bay, my wife and I have other hobbies like bicycles, motorcycles, camping, etc. Which is why I wanted a cheap boat. So, this one has low hours, a 3.0 OMC, radio, fishfinder, gps, and is very clean. The floor is solid and I checked as much as I can as far a rot goes. I like the color, the layout, and the style. BUT, this is what concerns me. The chips in the gell coat on the back corner above the outdrive. So I am asking the experienced here, could this be a sign of rot? Do these boats, or any boats, chip in this location often? I am new and appreciate any and all input. Take a look at the pic, tell me what you think.
