On my 2011 Tahoe Q5, I have a cracked head. Mercury 6v vortec 4.3 MPI 262 cubic inch displacement. Where would be the best place to look for a set of heads, with valves? I'm in GA. Thanks for any pointers!

Ayuh,..... Yer local junkyard or machine shop,....

Ya need '96 or Newer rebuild Vortec heads,....

Or yer GM Dealer for new ones,....

Or the aftermarket hot-rod shops for an aluminum Vortec set,.... if yer boatin' the freshwater of course,....

Go to a local junk yard and look for a set of vortec heads and have a valve job done on them. Use brass freeze plugs and marine head gasket

I can't find my engine on the Summit Racing website. Can anyone point me to a link that would bring up cylinder heads, complete with valves, for a: Mercury 6v Vortec 4.3 MPI 262cu. ? I'm going crazy trying to find a match.

Almost no options for an Al head for this application 'cept Brodix, and they flow so much that your boat would fall flat on it's face. Never mind the huge price tag for a BARE head. You could buy several V8 heads for what they want! LOL. There are plenty of auto recyclers in GA with the head you need. $50 is a good price then have it rebuilt. Try car-part.com and look for chevy blazers or S-10s with the 4.3L Vortec.
