A boat exploded at the Lake of the Ozarks, seriously injuring a St. Louis-area man.

The Missouri State Water Patrol reports that 63-year-old Donald Black of Valley Park had finished fueling his boat Saturday morning, when he turned on the ignition and the boat exploded.

The patrol said Black sustained serious injuries and was flown to a hospital in Columbia.

wow....bummer....make sure your boat is marine not auto.

also.....once a fiberglass boat catches fire. it really burns.
make sure you have good fire extinguishers on board.

doubt it would have helped in this case  but they are good to have handy.

That sucks. 75-80,000 bucks up in smoke. Hope the owner recovers.

Those fiberglass porta potties from the early 90's would be gone in probably less than 2 minutes. Or so I've been told...;)
