New/old boat. Fuel gauge works fine. did notice while poking around the green wires as seen in the picture are not attached where they would appear to go. Funny things is the wires dont reach the terminal. I guess its possible someone put a wire tie upstream somewhere after they became disconnected which prevents them from moving.

Do I need to hook these wires back up. Being green they are a ground of some sort?

The sending unit is grounded by the black wire.If it was an aluminum tank i would think ground but its plastic..
I would try to find out where they actually go before you hook it to the fuel sender. You never know what the previous owner could have done.

You only need 2 wires for the sender and since its working leave it alone. I suspect someone has done some rewiring over the years. If it were me I'd have to trace those green wires out to see where they go and get rid of them if not needed. Make sure there isn't 12V on them before you go pulling.
