115 hp johnson
1997 controls( came with a 90 hp Evinrude motor i have)
1995 motor
which means there is an adapter harness connecting the set of pigtails connectors on the controls harness to the big red plug on the motors harness.
( dont know if that matters)
I get the horn beep when i turn the key on initially, then all the lights go out on the systems check tach, except the HOT light. which NEVER goes off.
after exactly 2minutes the horn sounds and it is a constant shrill after exactly 10 seconds it goes off...
then it doesnt come on any more.
Until i turn the key off, then it starts all over..
and the engine doesnt have to be running, it happens from just the key getting turned on.
is there a way to prevent this?
I am about to tape foam over the horn to kill most of its sound.
I dont want to remove the horn....
I have the VRO dissconected
I have a temp sender in each head and a gauge
I am thinking the horn is just for over temps now
why is this horning going off at 2 minutes for 10 seconds?
thanks
