Well last week the motor was bogging, pulled the high speed jets and wow great back to normal. Yesterday I was on the water and the motor started acting up, it was very hard to start to the point of almost draining both my batteries. once it started I can open it up and then about 2 minutes the RMP's dropped and the motor stalled. And it did this about 10 times until I got it back to the dock. One thing i noticed was a semi loud ticking noise, I stopped the engine and pulled the cover. It was the VRO pump ticking, it was making a noise like a bad lifter. As so as I squeezed the ball she would stop ticking and then start a couple of minutes later.
I have disconnected the VRO and running premix instead. Anyone have a clue what this can be? I plan on pulling the carbs for a fourth time. Last time I pulled them there was like a green/bluish foam in the carbs, you can see it as soon as you pull off the silencer cover. I thought it was probably crap leftover after using the seafoam. Also this boat sat for about 3-4 years before I bought it. So the 35 gallon tank under the deck had alot of gas left in it so when I redid the floor I was able to pull the tank and drain it. Perhaps after this first full tank of gas it may have loosened up stuff in the tank?
Thanks
Jeremy
