Mine is It's a 'Ride-Guide' and covered very nicely in manual #2 (section 7B).... But I can't buy new cables for it any more...

Well, since there are no parts for it, and it doesn't help him fix his steering, I really didn't see a reason to bring it up.

what you have appears to be the rack and pinion setup, can be converted to Safe T type.
lot of corrosio0n, did the boat go down?

Somewhere on the cable sheath should be the brand and length. As already stated, it's a straight rack and pinion. Don't get confused with a rotary rack and pinion.
