Another Mystery Leak - Which Bellows?

Hello to all. Great site. It has been much help as I have lurked.

1987 3.7 with alpha one.

Everything I read here points to possibly a bellows leak. When outdrive is up, a good stream of water (clear) comes in through the outdrive housing (forgive me for not knowing what it is called). I can feel it coming in on the starboard side. When the outdrive is lowered, it almost stops completely.

shift boot most likely, bellows would leak just above the inputshaft.

Sound like it could be the shift cable rubber bellows is torn, Item number 21,

You would be able to see if it is torn on the outside of the gimbal housing/boat with the drive raised and turned to port, while you're kneeling down on the starboard side and maybe a flashlight in hand.
