ok so i have a 1987 bayliner capri, with a 85HP Force motor. I changed the impeller a once and have dropped the lower part many times, more time than i can count, and was always careful since i have read here that if you somehow put it in gear or mess with the throttle handle you can loose neutral... well about a year ago somehow i managed to do just that, i dropped the lower part to check on the impeller and moved put in gear and even moved the throtle, I did not realized what i had done until i was on the lake trying to move forward while still tied to the dock lol

Anyways I used the boat like that a few times then it sat, now i want to fixed it, so if you can give me some advice or send me a link (I looked but found nothing) I would thank you 1k times :)

That motor it shouldn't matter if it's in neutral, forward or reverse.
Did you remove any screws on the side of the drive(first pic)?
