Re: Another OIL ?
Sounds like you're way ahead of most people already, since you're changing it twice a year. If it's the hassle of going to a special place to get the oil, lots of places online will gladly ship it straight to your door. Order a case every couple of years, worst thing that would happen is you get out of boating and have $100 worth of oil to put in your ad as an additional incentive to the buyer when you sell the boat!
Are you familiar with the Mercury recommendation? It's here:

Read the NOTE just above the chart.
If you can't easily get the Merc stuff, any FC-W rated oil of the correct viscosity should be great. No reason in your environment you couldn't run the straight 40W.
From what I understand, the marine oils (FC-W) have some more stringent requirements (such as not rusting) than regular motor oil. Probably a good thing when you're pumping moisture into exhaust manifolds, etc. The NMMA FC-W requirements are here:

Haven't really looked into the full synthetics. I'm similar to you, I change my oil a couple of times a year with the Merc 25-40 synthetic blend. I figure that's more than good enough and don't worry about it any farther.
