I was able to track down the guy the PO bought my Duracraft from ( as a hobby he fixes up middle aged fishing glass boats) I thought he might have a windshield or something along those lines I could use. Well....when we got there, he actually had another whole tinny with trailer. It has an airplane looking bow handle/cleat that I have seen before but I can't find it again (you guys have been there before I Know) anyway, long story short, It now belongs to my son ( LOL ) I didn't get any small parts for mine, but was able to buy a nice running 25HP 88 model Johnson for my Duracraft (the PO found a label that stated that was the max HP for it, I don't know what he did with that label, painted over it? scraped it off?) We paid $800.00 for all of it, and my son is going to pay me back $200, so $600 for a nice running Johnson 25HP and a real good deal on the boat for him. I think we did good. I'll try to get pictures soon. Does any of you remember seeing the airplane looking bow handle I'm talking about? It actually has little wings and everything. His also still has both of the ID tags on the inside of the transom, tacked to the plywood on either side of the motor, but without a manufacture I don't know how much good those actually are. Each tag has no more than six numbers or letters and none of them have manufacture info. Maybe someone has seen one like it.

Thanks Casey

We actually put a different 25 Johnson, a little older than mine, on it and used it (as is) this past summer, fun little boat. Here are a few pics.

We also found out that this is a Mckenzie boat early 60's.

We were, that is my son at the wheel and myself grinning from ear to ear in the rear. He had a blast taking us all for rides!

Those little runabouts like that are kinda cute, but they sure weren't made for room or comfort... nor did they have much in mind for safety like floatation foam.

Restoring and updating that boat should be a good project and experience for your son.

LOL...No, I don't think comfort was on the top of the list, but this one does actually have a fair amount of floatation foam (I hope we don't ever have to test it out) It's a great size for exploring the back waters and shallow tributaries that are scattered everywhere around us. You get stuck, just push yourself off and back on the way you go. Five gallons of fuel allows you to play all day long, I really like that part.
