If there like the ones in my book they are designed to drain direct into the bilge of your boat, the extra plumbing is some of the price it looks like!

Oh I didn't think about that... but I guess you would have to drain the recessed ones somehow.

Well, I think it would be worth it for the stern cleats. Not so sure about the bow cleats. Tough decision now that it's 4 times as expensive as the other cleats I was looking at (the regular chrome plated zinc sea bowld cleats), but I've seen so many pics of boats on here with these recessed cleats, and they all look so good and functional, and like there wouldn't be anything to snag yourself on. Decisions, decisions.
