Hi guys, been having a great time the past few weeks, but, this last week I ran into a small issue with my starter. the issue is that the small gear on the starter that raises up to turn the large gear on the motor won't always turn the large gear. Not sure exactly what these two gears are called but, I am thinking that the small gear is the bendix, and the large gear is the flywheel. My question is, can I buy just that small gear?....It looks like the gear is getting wore down and then just turning around and not engaging the motor.

Yes ..you can just buy the Bendix gear...they are around 17.00....I believe you can get them right here on Iboats...

Are you sure the gear is worn or maybe you just need to clean the shaft it rides on (dirty splines) and then add a drop of oil so it can do a full travel up...

If worn check Iboats for the bendix....if not check here...he ships fast and has all the kits to rebuild starters also
