another question for a 1969 jonny115 lu

Nope. you can change the propshaft seals that way, but not the driveshaft seals.

walker,how do you know which seals need replacing?can you tell from looking at them?or is it just good practice to replace all?is this a hard job?any help is apprieciated.thanks

When I do a L/U seal job, I do them all. Get yourself a factory manual and follow the step by step procedure and you won't have any trouble. It does take some special tools. A special puller to pull the bearing carrier, pullers or punches to remove the old seals and a press to install the new seals.
