Another Rectifier question

this time it's for my 1985 Johnson 90 hp. My tach is going crazy so I suspect the rectifier. Once again I picked up an Ebay part cheap on a whim but the part number shows it's for an early 90's J/E 88 - 150hp with a 6 amp stator. I am pretty sure mine is a 6 amp stator as well. Bolt pattern lines up but the wire gauge and wire colors are slightly different. The part # is 584204. Will this work on my 85

Anybody? It looks like it would fit but I don't know if the part I need was superceded by this part.

No... it's a water cooled version...mounts under the flywheel. 5 wires.

Re: Another Rectifier question

The correct part number for your motor is 395204. That was superseded from part # 395391. I don't know if what you have will work or not, as I can find no reference for that number....

BTW- The correct Sierra Rectifier/Regulator part number is 18-5825 just in case you would need it...

Thanks Rick

The BRP site shows the 584204 is for a few motors from 1991 -1994 , 88hp to 150 hp. I can't see them having too much difference.

Mike
