Another steering question froma newbie

Just wondering I have a 80hp mercury outboard with hydraulic steering and it is really stiff. When I first got it, it was like that so I added grease to all the nubs I could see but it is still the same?? Could I have to much grease in the system or is there something I should clean out with the hydraulic lines??

Are you certain you have hydraulic steering?

Well I could be wrong but it has hosses running up under the steering wheel and there is some type of cylinder under there also....I know it is not the wheel and pully kind is there another type of system?
