ok on my 88 150 johnson the control box has the 3 prong female plug no the
front of it. which is for a test tach...

since i have no tach on my boat at all i called my local marina and he does not nor has ever heard of that port to hook a tach to. think he would have atleast known of it.

any who... of those three wires from the front of thecontrol box how would i hook up a test tack when i get one..

id like to try and pick up a used tach since i wont be mounting it just using it to see what i have rpm wise. i would love to perm. mount a tach but thats not to critical to me right now.

i feel like i may be lugging my motor i mean it planes nicely but when i throttle off the way up i think theres more that im not getting into if i push the level a little harder past stop it sounds like it changes tones line theres a littler more kinda like my bike when power band comes in.

Thank you,

A harness plugs into that for your tach hook up, not just a test tach. Check the marine store here for the harness.
