Another water temp and water pressure question

Hi, I have read a lot of the posts on here concerning water temp gauges and also water pressure gauges. I would like to add these to my motor, I am convinced after reading other posts on these subjects that they are good insurance to have, so if any of you have the time please help me.
I have a 40hp Mercury, 4 cylinder, 2 stroke, I think it is a 1995 or 1996.
Is there any places that sells the entire kits for the water pressure and water temp gauge that would come with the instructions for my motor?
I am having an issue with the overheating buzzer and was thinking if I had the water pressure gauge and the temp gauge I wouldn't need the buzzer, correct?
Also this may seem like a dumb question but do these gauges mount to the console so you can keep an eye on them.
This 40 hp Mercury is on a 21 ft pontoon.
While I am into this I would like to install a water pump kit and the thermostat, is that much of a big deal? I am an auto mechanic and also restore old cars but would like to learn as much as possible about my motor as possible.
Is it better to buy Mercury parts rather than generac, if so who would you recommend buying parts from.
I know this is lenghtly but I would like some help.

IDK anything bout the gauges, BUT, having the gauge WON'T obviate the need for a high temp alrm. If you are getting that there is a reason! Fix the problem, don't just cut out the alarm! Most likely, you NEED either a thermostat, an impeller, or BOTH! If it were MY boat, I'd do both at the same time.
I just did the impeller on a much older Merc, and it was MUCH easier than I expected. Buy a manual, follow the directions, no big deal at all. Only thing that threw me: the impeller SEEMS much too big when you go to mount the housing. Push down on the housing and turn the driveshaft CW at the same time, and it will flex itself right in. (The book told me that! LOL!) The thermostat is not a lot different than doing one on a car, so you should be good there too.

First priority is to troubleshoot the overheat alarm (steady tone alarm). Not something you want to ignore.

You can purchase complete kits for both the temp and pressure gauges. They are generic in nature and come with a variety of fittings to adapt to "most" motors. I would choose a 0-15PSI pressure gauge over the 0-30PSI version because your motor will not exceed 15PSI pressure. Yes, the gauge installs in the console and connects to the motor by means of tubing or wires.

One name (there are many) to search for is Quicksilver. Try ebay or your local marine dealer.

I had a 1993 Merc 40hp and it did not have a thermostat, so it is a good bet yours does not either.
