And what is preventing that thing from pivoting at the bumper? Imagine it pivoting around and locking up on the side of the bumper! That trailer will be all contorted. BAD idea altogether. Most step bumpers are rated at 3500# IF ball is mounted directly on bumper. Why in the heck he put a receiver on it is my question. I don't see anything gained unless he needs multiple ball sizes and 2 balls and a wrench would be a safer alternative.
