I have been spraying CRC 6-56 multi purpose lubricant under the cowling of my motor. Should I be using a different product, one that does not contain petro.?

I USE TO USE CRC AND WD 40 ON MY JET SKI MOTORS. I FOUND THAT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE EXCESS BECAUSE IT TEND TO TRAP WATER UNDER IT NOT REALLY LET IT "ROLL OFF" I HAD BETTER RESULTS IF IF WIPED OFF EXCESS WITH A RAG AFTER I SPRAYED IT BUT I RECOMMEND THE OMC ANTI CORROSIVE SRAY. I'VE BEEN USING IT FOR THE LAST 5 OR SIX YEARS AND SEEN A DRAMATIC REDUCTIOIN IN CORROSION OVERALL COMPARED TO THE CRC OR WD40

Go to a Mercury dealer and get a product they stock called 'Corrosion Guard'. MUCH longer lasting than other products. It sprays on and dries to a film, almost wax-like. I use it on all my motors up here and it works fantastic. It's good stuff, and I suggest it to anyone who will listen. :D

Several products you can use..LPS3 most hardware stores have it. ANd its the same as listed above. Just does not have the mercury name on it. Or you can get Boshield.
