I've tried the Pettit. Had tons of barnacles and growth. Interlux trilux 33 is the only thing I use...

Do you have a lot of trouble with fouling on the St. Croix? I thought that was more a salt water problem. Of course I am probably wrong about that.

Just different type of fouling. Not as bad either.

If you're in fresh water, you really don't have any reason to paint your toons.

Just assign everyone that comes on the boat a ScotchBrite pad, and tell them the boat leaves the dock when it's clean. The trick is to keep on top of scrubbing the water line, and minimizing the time the boat's in the water for the season.

Salt water is another issue.

We do that. But the underside is impossible to clean without pulling the boat due to the type of tunes.

Re: Anti fouling Paint

I gave up on antifouling bottom paint. I decided to give ultrasonic antifouling a try. After having to pay for a diver every month I decided to give one a try. I'm located down in South Florida so my options were limited. I did a bunch of research on the internet and decided to go with the only company that would give me a money back guarantee if it didn't work. I also didn't want to deal with a company located outside of the United States. I can only imagine what it would take to get a refund from Australia. So I settled on a company out of Florida called Barnacle Zapper. After a couple of months of sitting at my dock I could see that the hull was staying clean. I had a diver clean it before I had the system installed. By this time I would have already seen growth. It's been 12 months now and I still don't see any kind of growth on the hull. I go diving several times a month so it's easy to see on the way up. I'm going to be pulling the boat in a couple of months, so I'll post some pictures then. Maybe I just got lucky and picked the best system.

Re: Anti fouling Paint

I have used Blue Water Shelter Island bottom paint. Don't waste your money. The only thing it does is make it easier to scrape off the tons of barnacles that stick to it. I am still searching for a good bottom paint for my pontoons.
