Re: Anti-freeze dripping from Exhaust bellows!

So, I used an idea from Scott Danforth, ^^^^^^
Pressure tested the cooling system by cutting a bike tube up and adding about 8 - 10lbs of air.
Its the riser/manifold gasket on the port side!!:)
Only problem now, because it is a CLOSED cooling system, the dealer doesn't have the gaskets in stock!! They figure about a weeks delivery time.. frick/frack!!:(
Big thanks to all that contributed info and advice.
Still could use a hand identifing the year from the numbers that I originally posted.
Motor = 0L326949, Sterndrive = oL402252, Inboard 0L511969

Mark

Yes, thank-you Don, I had copied and saved that to my computer before I posted my first question.
Although I can't seem to find the exact #s., it appears that it is some where between Page #60 and #62, so if I'm even remotely correct, it is a 1999 year model?

You won't find the exact number anywhere, unless you are a dealer and have access Merc Net. As long as you are in the range somewhere, that's all you need to know for year.

Once again Thank-you Don.
I'm still not clear on the Alpha/Bravo listings though.
I will have another look and try to figure out what I actually have.

It's an Alpha I Gen II outdrive and transom shield. You do not have an inboard transmission.

Ahh, very good, I was just getting the numbers from where they have the little stickers in my Operation, Maintenance & Warranty Manual that came with the boat.
I was fairly certain, from the shape of the skeg and internet search's, that it was the Alpha one, Gen II. and had ruled out the Alpha 1.
If one can believe the hour meter and the maintenance log, it was installed in Aug. of 2000, with 487 hours on the original 5.0, the boat has now 758 hours.
The hull is listed as a 1974, with no HIN#.

You must have missed the pictures up in the sticky http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=329915

You bet, I did see them when I did a search with Google though, it brought me right back here! LOL
That is actually the pictures that I used to determine that my skeg was the Gen II style, the only difference is where the anode trim thing bolts on mine is flat like the first Alpha and it doesn't have the little tab/skeg!
