My reverse lock is engaged in both the forward and reverse gear and disengaged in neutral, is this the correct position? I was thinking when in forward gear it wouldn't be locked so when you hit something with the outdrive it would flip up and not put stress on any other parts or transom. What adjustment do I need to make if any?
Thanks

Thank you for the quick response Don but I'm still not clear if I need to make any adjustments, with it being in forward gear should I be able to move the outdrive with out releasing the retaining pawl?

When in forward, the lockdown mechanism should allow the drive to kick up.
