I have a 1983 ranger 330v with a 1983 Mariner 115 inline 6 outboard motor. It's an older boat and I know it sat a while without use so I am slowly each pay check doing some preventive maintenance on the boat. I was wanting to change out the anti-siphon valve but I can't seem to figure out how to get it off. I know it's on the top of the gas tank I'm positive that I am looking at the right thing. It's a copper piece that goes into a 90 degree aluminum piece that goes in to the top of the tank. There is a bolt that tightens down on to the gas tank and undeneath of that it looks like it is threaded but I can't tell if the threads go into the gas tank or not. Is there any advice on how to get this out? I am putting some pressure on it to loosen it and it is pulling up the gas tank pretty well and I don't want to put too much force on it and crack the gas tank or something like that trying to loosen it. Any help would be appreciated.
