Antifeedback Steering

Hello, I'm new to this forum & I have a question.

I just ordered a new 2011 Lund 1725 Rebel XL SS with a 90 hp Merc 2 cycle. The dealer asked me if I'd like antifeedback steering on it. I'm not familar with this. So, I said NO. But now I'm wondering if I need it.

He had a boat in the showroom that did have this on it, so I tried it. It felt like a car without power steering...it turned hard. But this boat was out of water & it was hard to tell.

I still have time to change my mind on this, but before I do I'd like to hear from you.

Does anyone have any comments on this steering - either good or bad. If so, let me know.

As I remember, I replaced my steering on an old Ranger w/Antifeedback Steering. Again that was a while ago.. BUT I remember it being a battle to steer the old boat w/ 175 Evinrude at speds above 50. I do remember how pleased I was after I changed the stering to the Antifeedback System & how easy it steered with little or NOwheel trurning by it self if I relaxed my grip.. The boat USE to wear me out driving it.. Again this was a 175 HP.. So your pre-effects probably wont be that severe. Depending on the cost I may have added it.. but probably not necessary on a 90hp. HOWEVER... once you get the boat- its yours.. I did mine myself and was a pain in the butt..If you can afford it- Id say get it.. IF not you will be fine.. I do think i is worth it.
