Hello - I'm new to this forum & I have a question.

Just ordered a 2011 Lund 1725 XL SS with a 90 hp Merc 2 stroke. My dealer asked me if I wanted the antifeedback steering option. I wasn't familar with this, so I said NO. But now I'm wondering if I should have order it.

He had a boat in the showroom with this steering. I tried it, but thought it turned hard. Felt like a car with no power steering. Maybe this will feel different in the water, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone give me some feedback on this option? Either good or bad information would be helpful.

Appreciate you input.
Thanks

Re: Antifeedback Steering

I have a Lund 1625 Rebel XL with a 60 hp 4 stroke Mercury. ORDER THE NO FEEDBACK STEERING! You can not get the feel of it on the trailer. However, you can be going down the lake and turn loose of the wheel and it will not turn on its own with the torque of the prop. You will not regret it if you order it. It's not very much more $ and very much worth it. Trust me. Make it a pleasant experience. Enjoy your new Lund.

Re: Antifeedback Steering

Thank for the reply. I think I?m going to order it. The cost was around 60 to 70 bucks.

Sorry about the double post. I thought the first one didn?t go through, so I redid it and then there were two.

Re: Antifeedback Steering

I just talked to my Lund dealer and he said the ant feedback steering is standard on the 2011 boats. That means I just saved $60.

My boat is supposed to be made on the 16th and I would get it around Sept. 1st.

No boat yet! Boy, I can?t stand the wait?.I?m pretty excited about getting it. Dealer/Mfg. said it was made on 8/23, but they need 8 boats in the shipping load to ship out to MI. I?ll let you know when it comes.

Re: Antifeedback Steering

I got my new boat today, and thank you Capt.C for talking me into the antifeedback steering. No problem with hard steering and can take my hands off the wheel going fast.

Short story how I got my boat. The dealer said it would be 2 to 3 weeks longer before it would ship. I could wait or drive to New York Mills MN. and picked it up at the factory. Shipping cost was $441 to Michigan and I used $220 in gas, so I?m a couple hundred ahead. A little over 800 miles one way. Me and the wife left at 11pm and got up there at 11am. Got a factory tour and they gave us a couple Lund hats. After seeing how Lunds are made, I?m glad I bought one.

Congrats on the new Lund. You can't go wrong.

I love my 2001 Explorer but every time I read or hear about somebody getting a new one, I get a little twinge.
