ANTIFOULING PAINT ?

A aluminum boat in fresh water.(Antifouling Paint)<br />Is it needed?<br />Is the copper harmful?<br />Will not the copper react to the aluminum and create other problems.<br />After a good paint job will Wax protect the surface and to what degree? <br /><br />You view points on this please.....Michael

if its a cupous oxide based paint dont use it, even with a barrier coat problems can arise, in fresh water paint it with immaron or other good flexible paint and hop overboard with a scrub pad periodically but any copper based paint is out. contact the the hull manufacturer for anti-fouling painting reccomendations and procedures.
