We have funny TLC ads, Starcraft ads, and all that jazz. If we don't have an antique outboards thread I'd like to start one.

http://charlottesville.craigslist.org/boa/3091937763.html

This is a RUNNING collectable vintage outboard, I've had it to the lake this year and motored for about an hour... so it is running and useable, probably more for the vintage outboard collector than a daily driver user, could use a little tweaking of the carb for better idle and performance. Can email video of the motor running. Thanks for looking. EDITif you email do not ask simple ?s like is the item for sale... I will not respond to scammers. And be a nice person do not call or txt people in the middle of the night.... Cheers

Shoot, I had a running OMC-made Sea King 5hp, that you can actually get parts for!, with pics of it actually running!, for about half the Elgin's price!, and I still have it! Without even a tire kicker to come look it over to show for my efforts! CL is a funny place...

Yeah man, I find those 1 cylinder motors are a little tough to sell.

Nope - mine is a twin cylinder from '53 - LONG before Sea Kings became rebadged Eskas. Mine starts easily & runs smooth. Has the standard Johnrude ignition and waterpump impeller. Carb is an odd duck, but simple. Even has a working neutral clutch!

Looks like an Eska, or one of it's derivatives, like your Sea King... Certainly not an "antique", though...

Yeah I wouldnt say so either. He seemed to think so :) I love that Merc in your avatar.
