Hello again. Thanks for the "welcome backs" guys!

Yesterday me and Ms SW went to the Antiques Roadshow in Mobile Alabama. We brought some stuff that we knew wasn't worth much, but wanted to know what we should ask for it. One thing I brought was a knife my grandfather brought back from WWII, and I wanted to know where it was made. They didn't know. It is a strange knife, possibly made by the Gurkha tribe, but it isn't a Kuhkri, and the shape of the blade is like nothing I've in hours of research.

Anyway, it was real neat to go. There is a LOT of standing in line as the experts try to appraise items for 3000 people in one day. We saw them tape some items and take photographs of some people, and overall it was a good time. We spent the night before in Daphne AL. To anyone traveling in the area, if you are hungry or need to find lodging, skip Daphne. We ate at three different places and they all were disappointing. The Microtel Inn was noisy all night long. But spending the night right my Mobile allowed us time to visit the USS Alabama again. Haven't been there for years. The Roadshow was done at the Mobile Convention Center, and that place is really nice and located right off the interstate. Plus we got to see a mummy exhibit at the Mobile Explorium. That was cool. The mummy was really small. Hard to believe that such little people could build the pyramids.

If the Roadshow comes to town near anyone here, I recommend digging some junk out of the closet and get some tickets. Just wear comfy shoes and be prepared to spend hours standing.
