Another way to get Norton System Works (NSW) which includes Norton Anti-Virus free is watch the flyers that come with the Sunday paper, many times Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. has NSW on a special for $70, $10 off on the spot, and 2 $30 dollar mail in refunds, final cost $0, you pay only the original purchase tax and a pair of stamps. I do this with my computers.<br /><br />PS: I've used NSW for years, I have never had a <br />virus or worm get past Norton.

Thanks for all the feedback.I am currently halfway through the AVG 7.0 trial and it is working quite well but I will probably try a couple of others before I decide.

Well it looks like my wife wants to get the AVG product.So I went online to order.It is $33.30 for 2 years.So AFTER adding to my cart there is ALSO a "backup cd" at $10.95.Total $44.25.<br /><br />So my question is:Those of you that use AVG were you required to buy the backup or just download the program? We are not cheapskates I just don't like purchasing things we don't really need.<br /><br />Thanks again for your helpful insight.

I use AVG, but I just use the free version that is available on their website. It doesn't cost anything. I have used it for a few years now.<br />You can buy the $33.30 version and that lets you have access to certain utilities that the free version doesn't have.

I googled some reviews and all recommended McAfee as #1 in three review I read. Norton was #2, #3, and #5. So I bought Internet Security Suite V7.0. It has AntiVirus, AntiSpam, Firewall, and Security/Parental control. I am happy with the job it does. I ahve tracking cookies and MRU files when I run Adaware and Spybot. I no longer have any other hits in these scans. <br />Curiously though my pop-up blocker doesn't work.
