I have a fishing seat mounted on the front deck of my Sea Chaser 175. I use it for both saltwater flats fishing, but the seat comes in when I am crappie fishing in the lakes. My back has been getting real sore after 6-8 hours on the water in the fishing seat.

Last time out I sat in the seat in front of the center console, which works fine with the ipilot and remote, but I missed a few bites by not being right on top of the rod holders.

Here is the seat I am looking at. It is smaller, folds down and has springs in the bottom cushion. Just wondering if anyone out there has it or has sat in it.

IMHO, throwing money at this issue may not help. That's a long time to be sitting in any type of seat. Good luck!

You are correct, but it is a 2 hour trip to my favorite fishing lake so I try to stay out as long as possible. I do get up and walk around, stretch etc. Just wanting to get the best seat possible without costing too much.

I use the Coleman Max folding chairs with the mesh bottom and back, works very well, I have sat in them for 12 to 16 hours on fishing trips.

Take a look at sitting height regardless of which seat you select. A PT made me aware of the fact when knees are bent beyond 90 degrees, it is likely to cause back pain. Good luck!

Really loving these:

Had a couple 40 year old seats like this in a boat I bought, and just ordered up 3 for another boat I am rebuilding.
The arm rests are great, give you a sense of security so you don't have to brace yourself to keep from tipping over.
You can relax, stretch the legs, lean to the side, what ever you need to do to ease the pressure on the back muscles.
