I went to Lowes this morning and pucked up a Fogger that is good for ants including carpenter ants. I had a revelation in the store , & am starting to wonder if they are carpenter ants. The boat is sound BUT the genius that built the refrigerator,sink station and the bulkhead for the cuddy did it out of particle board then did a poor formica job over it. the wood is swollen and starting to rot. The thing is I can live with it and fix it as work in progress while I use it to fish

I am REALLY dying to get her wet, and since I took my son fishing off a comm fishing boat last weekend off fire Island he has found a new interest in the boat he too is itching to get out on her. I want to strike while the iron is hot

Well, If they ARE carpenter ants, I say FIRE THEM! They abviously have been slacking on their job if you are still 4 hours away from getting her wet. Those carpenters should have had that job done months ago!

I could not imagine that many ants. Is there nothing you could put on the ground that would deter them from even coming in the yard? Eeeww, I get the creepys even thinking about them things crawling all over and biting me.

Hey Bill...have you tried ... uhum......moving the trailer off the nest? lol

or if youve got a little concrete area...move it there (spray the area 1rst)

HATE ANTS! we've got these little red fire ants..when they bite it hurts! leaves a nice red mark....luckily they dont get into our boats yet....heheheh

I simply can't help it; I'm stepping on ants

it happens whenever I walk, run or dance

it's nothing malicious; or that I don't care

I just can't avoid them they're everywhere

if you weighed all of them; and weighed all of us

they'd outweigh us each by the weight of a bus

so mayby I'm green as I wander the road,

and I'm helping the earth by reducing the load

so the world will tip back to where it should be

and the weather will change 'ore the land and the sea

so we'll all live in plenty; a great happenstance

and all because we were walking on ants

I live 10 minutes from Captree. I had an episode with ants in my camper and the fogging worked for me! Good luck

I think I found the main nest today while cleaning. It was behind the refrigerator in this huge pile of rotten wood under the sink. I sprayed it must of killed 100's of them. I do intend on building all that new in the weeks to come. Its not part of the boat, it was an add-on on top of the deck at the co-pilot station. I have to build that and a new bulkhead at the cuddy cabin if you look at my Sea Gem thread you can see where I mean in the pics on the 1st page

Angus, I was at Captree Sunday. My son and I went out on a fishing boat with the boy scouts from there. we got there just in time for that monsoon that hit us.

Hey Paul, Nothing but sand here . I did wash the heck out of her than move her before covering and setting off the fogger P.S I hate fire ants so glad we don't have them here. Back when I drove tractor trailers a few wound up in my sleeper one night Man do they hurt

Thad, consider them fired, I put a nice big blue tarp over it tonight and set off the fogger I felt like Donald Trump only in a Al Pacino Scar face kinda way lol

The Ants are all DEAD!!!!!!

Went out this morning took the cover off and found nothing but bodies littering the boat. I hosed them all out the boat Now if I could only get the boat balanced on the trailer, I have no weight on the tongue pushed the front beam all the way up to no avail I actually have to push down on it to hook
