so i brought my 92 nissan outboard to the "authorized" service center because of a misfire at high rpms,
i checked spark, compression, fuel, and carbs everything appeared to be in good workin condition. After i couldnt figure it out is when i brought it to the shop. they had it for over a week untill they called me with bad news. they told me that they lost spark from the stator, Now if thats the reason why it was skipping and they fix it for 600$$
then great.... but if they replace the stator and that does not fix the problem, then what?????

I brought it to them in ok running condition it had a little skip, it didnt seem like a big deal, and they Lost spark from the stator?...thats kind of a big deal. Im just curious what happens when you spend a chunk of change to fix something that went wrong in their hands, and the real reason you brought it in there in the first place is still unknown? is it their responsabilty to ensure my satisfaction?

Re: any advice?

Yes. Advice that is.

Most helpers troll the fora for troubles they can help with and SKIP those that they can't.

How would a helper have any idea whether they can help you or not??

With several hundred posts a day to possibly look at your mystery title is likely to get skipped by the busyest helpers.

State your trouble in the title.

Re: any advice?

it would also help if you'd post what model you have. Or at least what horsepower it is. Hard for anyone to give advice with just a "92 nissan outboard" description.

Nissan did not produce an engine with a stator in 1992...What is the model number of your engine?
