Any boaters using Honda Gen on your boat?

I'm installing small A/C on my boat for those 14 hr. HOT summer Gulf Stream fishing trips.I've got the A/C system engineered the way I want it.I just can't decide how to power it.I have a location available if I wanted to install a perm.water cooled genset. It just will not get used all that often. When it is used it will only be asked to power is 1 small a/c unit.I 'm just having a hard time justifying the expense.
Which leads me to my second option:portable Honda-I would like to hear from any one that has gone the Honda route and get there opinion.I like the fact that the Honda is portable so it could serve more uses then just the boat. They say there quiet thats nice.I'm thinking of building a fiberglass box on boat to put in in while using.Doe's anyone see a problem with this.I would ventilate box with an intake grate & in line blower to evacuate air.
Any opinions good or bad appreciated.

If it was high enough wattage to power the ac i say go for it.
Can't beat the Hondas for being low on noise and last forever.
We use a bunch of them at my job sometimes and they always start easy and run great.
I have noticed several pontoon boats using them for night fishing too...

The Honda gensets are incredibly quiet. I have an EU2000 - while under a full load you can stand next to it and carry on a normal conversation. I can't comment on your particular set up on how you plan to keep it covered but they do need a fair amount of fresh air. Do not place it in your engine compartment and run it. Nothing on it is spark proof. I suppose you can figure out the consequences. A very good choice, you won't reget it. :D

Box would be pretty much isolated from rest of boat.I have 4/st. outboards(no engine room). There is a 24"x24"x24" baitwell built in aft deck of boat that I don't use.I would like to seal off this baitwell to prevent any water intrusion and use as gen.compartpent.
I guess my main question is:Can I acheive enough air exchange in box to prevent operational problems? What I was considering doing is ducting 2"-3" return(intake)to 1 side of box and ducting the same on the other side except with an in-line blower that is powered anytime gen is runnning.
This would pull fresh air in one side and discharge it out the other. Both would be out back of boat.
I just don't know if the heat from exhaust would be to high??

You could vent exhaust with a tube to fresh air. It may also be possible to wrap exhaust in the heat bandage used by fast car enthuisiasts. That would cut down on heat generated in the small space.
