thanks for all the info:
Dockwrecker....that is about as close to what I want....just wish they were still making them....a little too old for me as I do not want to get into restoration.
I may end up either buying a heavy duty truck to be able to pull and launch a 24ft cruiser or getting the best cuddy I can find. I just really don't like the idea of sleeping on top of the porti potti

Just found this:
Whittley CR 2165 , it has the look I want and appears to have an aft cabin, v berth couches, sink, fridge, head behind enclosed curtain. All at 21 feet and a trailer weight of just over 4000lbs.
whittleys website stinks, the specs wouldn't load and not any pictures of the head, or seating arrangements on deck. I had to google the specs so I hope they are right. This seems trailerable and a good over nighter, but I don't know a thing about Whittley's.....any one got any thumbs up or downs on this boat or boat MFG?
thanks

Hey all,
is there any boats that are under 22 ft that are trailerable and offer a cabin with enclosed head with shower?

We love our 86 bliner 2150 sunbridge.

v berth, sink, fridge, aft cabin, enclosed head (no shower). we can sleep 4 in the cabin pretty well and 6 can fit on the deck very well.

with trailer and loaded, it's under 5k lbs. and you can still ski without destroying your gas fund.

we got this b/c my wife didn't like the idea of sleeping over the porta potti either!

Jat- where do you live, and are you buying new or used? Arima boats look pretty cool, though I don't think I've ever seen one in the northeast. In older, take a look at Larson 22' Hampton/San Marino. They were made until the late '90s.

Have you done a search on Yachtworld or Boattrader? Search in your size range and you'll see many examples that might be worth looking at a little closer.

As far as the 'porta potti' idea, you won't find much else in your size range, and sleeping over one is no biggie. They seal tight and don't smell. Had one in my 19' walk-around cuddy. It worked when I needed it.

My 24' Chris Craft express had what was laughingly referred to as a stand-up head with shower. I suppose it is if you're under 5 feet tall, or a contortionist. The toilet was an MSD- glorified porta potti with a deck pumpout and only 2.5 gals capacity. I'd rather have had a straight porta-potti I could remove from the boat. I was at the pump out station constantly, for the 30 seconds it took to pump it out. PITA.

Good luck!

I live In CT and will be doing a lot of 2-5 hour rides with some overnighting to long Island, Rhode Island, Block Island, etc.

I am most likely looking for a 2000-2006 year range, that seems really affordable right now.
JoLin- those Arima boats do look pretty cool, I will try to find one in person to check out the v berth and head.
I did find a Wellcraft 210 and a Wellcraft 232 Coastal that claims it has everything I want, once again their website stinks and no pictures of the v berth cabin or head....which is really important to my wife. if anyone finds interior pics of that boat I would appreciate it.
All of your info is so helpful.

I agree, I think that model IS it for you :) I think I've seen some Cabrio models before and thought they were cool and had big boat features on a small boat. Larson is a solid mid-range manufacturer. I have read of some fiberglass issues with them but nothing I'd write off the whole brand about. My concern though is the price. For that kinda price I'd be wanting a mint condition boat with an above base powerplant (fuel injected preferably). I'm not sure what motor is in that one but the boat doesn't seem to have been anything above average maintained.

ok here is my top 5 after extensive research please feel free to give me your 2 cents on each make/ model for the best overall bang for my buck:
1. Wellcraft 232 coastal
2. Larson 220
3. Campion Allante 705i Sport Cabin
4. Crownline CCR 230
5. Monterey 236 Montura

What I like about these 5:
1. 1999-2006 range and 12-20K
2. can be towed with my mid size truck with a 6800lb max tow rating
3. have a porti potti that is not under where you sleep like most cuddys.
4. I can keep them at my side driveway saving me plenty of marina $

IMO, all decent choices assuming they're in good shape. Be very, very cautious about the engine/outdrive package. You don't want to end up with a pre-bankruptcy OMC- there will be a few around. Stick with Mercruiser or Volvo Penta.

Good luck!
