South of St Augustine is Canaveral National Seashore. There are several small islands in the lagoon there that are only accessible by boat; there are a number of campsites that are very secluded. It's a really beautiful place!

I have lived in Jacksonville beach and St. augustine and I can't think of a single camping area near the intercoastal. You can anchor right next to the bridge of lions. I think you can also rent a slip at the marina there as well and there are lots of hotels close by. The only camping areas I know of are off sr210 and one at the beach but neither are close to the intercostal.

you can dock at any of the city docks , or bulk heads in Jacksonville, for free, for 72 hours.

Ocean Grove RV Camping Resort is on the Intracoastal south of the City of St. Augustine. They have boat launch at the campground - it's located on Anastasia Island. We've only been there in RV - never had a boat with us but watched, with envy, the boats going up and down the St. John River.
