Any clue what this is?

It was just laying in the back where the battery goes and I have no clue what it is. I was not hooked up or anything. It has about a 4ft long black single wire to it.

Any ideas to what it would be and used for?

Looks to me like a transducer for a depth sounder.

Yep. It is a thru hull transducer.

Actually, it looks like an old Humminbird transom mount transducer that was mounted as a shoot-through.

Yep, I've got an IDENTICAL one to that out in the shop. it was an old hummingbird flasher model, pretty much the only depth finder on the market at the time.
