Any good news about 1997-1999 FICHTs?

I have the first FICHT (1997 Johnson Fast Strike 150 FICHT). I run it on a 19 foot Panther deep "V". This motor has acceleration like nothing I have ever seen - when we first put it on (running a 19" aluminum prop) it literally "jumped" out of the water when I punched it - breaking the two front seats and throwing the occupants on to their backs. I love this thing!

My question is, with all the bad press I have heard about these engines, is there anyone of the early FICHT motors who is actually enjoying theirs? Also, is it likely I will never be able to sell it?

Any comments would be welcomed.

All the bad press was caused by low rpm, work boat type usage. Prolonged running around 1500 - 1800 rpm with a large load was causing the motor to soot up and eat the cylinder walls like there is no tomorrow. Bass boat applications have been virtually bullet proof, at least in this area. So, just keep breakin' them bolts!!!
