Hello all I am looking at picking up a new motor for my boat and getting ready to take a couple hour road trip to look at this motor tomarrow. By quickly looking at this it looks to me like it is a late 80's crossflow 115.

What I know about this motor now

It is a rude
It is a 115

any other speculation from anyone else out there what this motor may be?

Thanks
Jason

When the 90 degree loopers came out in 85, they were rated at 120 and 140 hp. If yours is a 90 degree 115, it is probably a crossflow.

I don't mean to hijack, but what is the difference between a cross flow and looper? I take it that refers to the intake design? Which is better? I have a rude 112 that is a 1994, what would that be?

By looking at the pic it appears to me to be a 1983 crossflow 115 if the decals and paint are correct. It does not appear to be a VRO motor which correct me if I am wrong came out in 1984??

its in nice shape, like its been painted recently.
Doesn't look 25 yrs old.
