Any Ideas about removing the foil decal on a 84 force outboard hood?

I have tried a decal removing wheel and works great on other things but not this foil decal on the hood. How do others do this? I'm not sure where to post this but we'll start here. Thanks for any help.

If its stuck on there with the usual vinyl adhesive a hot air gun (hairdryer may suffice) should soften the glue enough to allow it to be gradually peeled off.....

Tried that with a hair dryer, after 1 hour had removed 1 square inch. The foil makes it very tough. At this rate I'll be done October(2011).

Are you heating the area real good you are about to peel back as well?.....The hairdryer may not be producing enough heat to do the job or its just the foil as you say, that's a pita.

Covered about 9 square inches till too hot to touch. No joy. Thinking about buy heat gun but I'm sure it will blister the paint or deform the plastic cowl.

It seems you are getting it hot enough with just the hairdryer, youd be wasting money on a heat gun.....this usually works pretty good with vinyl decals because it heats the decal as well and allows it to stretch instead of snapping or tearing thats obviuosly not happening with the foil in the mix though....

I hope somebody chimes in with a better method for ya.....

The product look's great but I don't think it would work on metal foil. Thanks though, will test it on removing my pin stripes.
