Any ideas of what I should replace my speedo with?

I want to remove my speedometer. It's not original, doesn't light up at night, and is (like most boat speedos) inaccurate. I use my gps if I really want to know my speed.

It's the regular speedo size (4" dia range)., and I want to put something else there, but can't think of anything. Anyone have some ideas?

Loewrance LMF-400 multi-function gauge. I replaced my fuel gauge with an LMF-200 and love it.

I'm having the same quandary. Only thought so far is to install a large cup holder in the hole to hold my cell phone.

Good ideas so far. One other thing. Whoever installed the speedo (original owner I believe) put it where it's 'behind' the steering wheel. So a cup holder won't really work. My gps/ff sits on a gimbal mount on the dash, I also have a nice Ritchie compass there as well. I have a fuel monitor/computer that is only 55mm, and it's in a gauge pod on the dash as well. I have all the other necessary gauges (tach, volt, fuel, temp, trim, oil, hours), and can't think of something that'll look good in the speedo hole. Oh, and vhf is mounted below the dash, and the stereo is in the cabin.

A good compass...

That's what I would go with they do come in handy at times. I have been out from the marina 1 hr. after dark and had to stop boat with the wind blowing like crazey pushed boat around in circules not sure which way to go back. But I do look at compass when leaving the marina so I know which way back home.....:) Plus made a trip to catalina island for the weekend one time perfect weather on the way out took a compass reading on the way there. On the way back just reversed the reading and the weather was way different than when we left. But followed the compass and got back home.:)
Plus you can get some cool coloured lights in them....
