Re: 1957 Cambridge MFG
Re: 1957 Cambridge MFG
How is the keelson on her would be my first question. Everything else could look mint but replacing that is not easy.If the keelson is okay I would guess anywhere from 1500 and up.What does he want and is it in Craigs, there was one listed in Pittsburgh a while ago,I think he wanted 2200,engine was not period correct.I never saw if it sold or not. The Golden J is also a sought after engine and worth some money to a few collectors [who are historicaly cheap].If you go to fiberglassics.com in the library forum there is a lot of info on MFG. If you are allowed to,you may have to sign up, punch in keelson in the search icon. There are some pics of two MFG's with that piece being replaced. There ia also a pic of a 57 on the home page of nicklecityclassics.com that one was awarded best of show by the son of the guy that started MFG.I picked up a 56 Cambridge witha 56 trailer and no motor for 275. I will have to replace the keelson and most of the woodwork as it was painted.I will use the old wood for a template. It will cost me quite a bit in money and time to make it look showroom. So if you have one that will require very little other than the asking price then it is probably worth it.Unless you have a large garage and are into resto work.Let me know how you made out and what he is asking.........To the OP you may want to post that in the fiberglassics for sale section and post the same question as here before listing. How quick do you want to sell it.The lower the price the better chance you have of moving it,there are only so many mostly older guys out there that appreciate some of these glassics.
