Any info on the 1934 16' sailed racing canoes

A friend of mine has acquired, what we think is, a 1934 Old Town Canoe Company sailed racing canoe. Serial number 16-6984-16. The boat is in great shape. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Very cool, never thought of a canoe being sailed....to tippy. Any pics of them in action ??

This guy is essentially doing the great loop in reverse, up stream. They Mississipi got him so he portage that and restarted on the IL river but he uses a small sail as well.

I can't imagine sailing a canoe without some type of outrigger.

Spring Creek has all you need to sail a canoe or a kayak. FYI you can not use a sail on a canoe in the BWCAW.
