First sorry if I posted this in the wrong place...Ok I've done it again probably need therapy but I could not pass it up and it was for charity. I spotted a boat in Kansas City on craigslist that looked promising being sold at a donation center for Children with Cancer anyway I called about it and bought it yesterday. The boat is 59 Glasspar Liddo with a 59 50 hp envinrude with a Gator Trailer. It looks like its in pretty good shape but we'll see. Here's where I was looking for some help. Im in Arkansas about a 6 hour drive to it and Im looking for a reputable shop to service or replace wheel bearings and tires if needed. I could trailer it home but it would be easier to just drive up and pull it home. The boat itself will end up being a gift to my daughter and son in law as a graduation gift as they will graduate from college this spring. Now we'll have 2 59s along with my duracaft when it gets done. Anyway if anybody knows someone or has suggestions let me know. Sorry to the mod if this is the wrong place. Thanks..

Cool boat!

Knowing what I know now about old boat trailers, I'd be taking my took box and some jack stands along, finding the local Tractor Supply and buying a whole me axle/hub assembly for $150 and be done with it. A lot of those old trailer had weirdo bearing anyway. I know mine did.

Woodenglass she is cool isn't she I hadn't thought about calling the chamber that's a good idea.
Ezmobee your a man after my own heart and that's what I would normally do but there's a ice storm between me and there and the low Friday night is 7 degrees with a high of 27 forecast and I'm just not that tough. I Thought if the roads were passable by Friday I might head up there and bring her home Saturday.

I have the exact Gator Trailer. She is 53 years old. Axles were perfect. Had em repacked, put new tires on her and drove her home 150 miles.

Woodenglass if you still looking at this I read your Flamingo thread and your boat looks fantastic. I also noticed you had a gator trailer as well was it 4 lug or 5 lug? The old boat trailer under the duracraft has 5 lug and my other fishing boat trailer has 4.

Thanks that was a useful piece of info...I think Me and my wife are going to go for it tomorrow afternoon. I took my 5 lugs off my other trailer to take with me. I'm also taking a 12volt portable wench with me and a battery for it my small floor jack and jack stands and a good tool box with assorted tools. I taking some bearing buddy's with me and when I get there jack up the axle check the bearings for noise and for piece of mind pop a bearing buddy on each and pump some fresh grease in there. I think I can do that pretty quick. If all is not well rough sounding of feeling bearing I found a uhaul place with a trailer with in 5 miles of where Im picking her up thats were my winch comes in winch her up strap her down and head out....Wish me luck..

If the Tires are decent I'm betting she'll road home fine. Bad weather checking on the tires...then buy new ones. If you can get her to a tire store they'll mount the tires and pack the bearings too. I had a spare for mine so I got 3 New tires Mounted and Bearings packed for $150 bucks.

Hey rfevans, I live in KC, send me a email or PM if you need any help. Though, the fact that Sno-pocalypse just happened yesterday, I hope your wife and you got through all right. Depending on where you are picking up the boat, I'm 20 minutes or less drive from most everything in the city. Let me know if I can assist a fellow Iboater.

Every day I'm shovel'n, Every day I'm shovel'n........SNOW, that is. :D

Looks like Bill sold another one. He is a real good guy. He lives near Lake Quivira just a few miles south east of the racetrack. I've bought several parts and one boat from him. I would recommend you have a 4x4 or wait until the snow melts. He is down a fairly steep hill and I have had a little trouble getting up the hill with a Chevy conversion van towing a Ranger bass boat. We hit a patch of sand going up the hill and spun the tires a little. He is into ponds and waterfalls and has some really neat displays.

Thanks guys for the warnings and tips. Bill is a heck of a nice guy and did have lots to look at and a heck of a driveway like you said. Three cars slid off the rd on his rd alone. I found a trailer place open and there re packing bearings as we speak. Tires look good even the spare. So far so Good. One good bonus with this deal it turned out this boat ended up being a 16ft Avalon instead of of the 14 footer. I'm stoked. Pics to follow
