Any Large Boat Smart Tabs Users?

Was just speaking with a guy who has a set installed on his 27' express cruiser (about 6500 lbs) and says he likes them. He's selling a boat I want to look at. I went to the Nauticus site and, sure enough, the Smart Tab II is advertised for boats up to 30' long.

Any big-boat users here? I have Bennetts on my boat, and I'm curious as to how well the ST's work. I'd be concerned about their behavior in a following sea, when I'd typically raise my Bennetts all the way.

(I had a set of Smart Tabs on a 21' Pro Line, btw, and they worked fine in that application)

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seen a mid 20' or larger express cruiser without a regular trim tab installed already. What kind of boat does he have?

I have, in boats the same vintage as mine, which his is. May not be the case any longer, but they were optional on most at the time.

Without a cost discussion, personally I will never give up the ability to compensate for list on the fly. Whether it is shifting loads, or cross winds, swells or any other factor that changes the running attitude from side to side, I want control. Add in the ability to get the bow up when passive tabs may hold it down, then even at 20 ft I want helm adjustable.

For the guy who is more of a point and shoot type, then Smart Tabs make sense to me.

The Smart Tabs I have are easily adjustable from the Stern. Is it automatic like the electric hydrolics. No. But for my 18fter its perfect.

I agree 100%, but in this case the Smart Tabs are already installed, so I'm looking for feedback from anybody who might be using the ST II's on a largish, heavyish boat.
