Re: Any new small sport boats at or under 10K??
I have to laugh quietly to myself, because I am NOT a Bayliner advocate, as you portray me to be. AND I was most certinaly not seeking any kind of validation on my purchase. I simply wanted to know if there was any substance to all the Bayliner bashing that I have read before finally buying the Bayliner 175 XT.

I now have come to the realization that the Bayliner Bashing comes from happenings well in the past... a time (like Pointer94 so eloquently points out), I am not concerned with. I am concerned if there are any quality issues TODAY, not 25 years ago. After all, why would I be concerned with how a Bayliner was made 25 years ago, if I am purchasing new? And why do Bayliner Bashers not make it clear in their posts that they are bashing Bayliner of Yester-year? I have read many posts that say "Bayliner sucks", or "don't buy it, its a Bayliner", which by todays standards, is just plain ignorant and not true. Its one thing to hold a grudge towards a company for your bad purchase, but those types of quotes can mis-lead new boaters like me into thinking that the Bayliner product is not a good product TODAY, which it most definitely is.

So, to all those that 'beta tested' the inferior Bayliner products of old, it is I that salute you. You have allowed Bayliner to refine their product so they are now of high quality, AND affordable, which allows young families such as mine to venture into this wonderful pastime.

If its solace you need, just look towards the high quality product that Bayliner is putting out TODAY and take heart in knowing that you contributed to getting them where they are, and are partially responsible for allowing young families like mine to enjoy the boating experience.

Personally, my comfort will come from knowing that I have helped clarify this bashing once and for all for other people who are thinking of getting into boating with Bayliner.

Cheers!
