Ya this is getting ghastly. I have not yet had the boat out on the river. To afraid of what is lurking beneath. But on the other hand I have been able to get a lot of cleaning done on the boat and around the yard. Where you boat at in Illinois?
i live in park ridge , i like to go to fox lake its a straight shot up rand, even though i have had some bad experiences up there with the shallow water
i cant find a spot deeper than 8 feet, but then again i stick kind of close to ben wats marina ,i am a new boater , i dont really trust my boat that much
I haven't had the boat out yet,but did some bank fishing over the last few weekends. Caught the largest sheepshead I ever saw in Marseilles last sunday.
Too many trees, picnic tables, and telephone poles, etc,in the river yet.
Been on the lake a couple weekends. We got another 2 inches this morning but for some reason the lake is not coming up. I figured it would be over the seawall and in the yard this evening.
Took the boat out of winter storage, but its to cold and wet for a full detail. I'll give it two weeks, before I put it on the lift. Not to mention there is more crap in the Illinois river with all this rain.
Been on lake Geneva up in Wisconsin. I tried to go on the chain for the 1st time and leaving Ben Watts marina heading up to Blarneys Island also for my 1st time, but I hit something and damaged my brand new boats prop. So that will end my chain of lakes excursion! Lake Geneva on the other hand is clean and deep yet it can be choppy and crowded at times.
Today we went to a launch at 31st and Western and did a nice family cruise into Chicago's Navy pier. It was slow going (alot of no wake zones) but just nice to be on the water. I also am looking for new places to go but something that has alittle depth in the water. So any suggestions would be helpful
