Any Other Ways To Solve Bravoitis?

I have read through this thread titled 454 temperature issue - bravoitis? and am dreading having to access the inlet hole , due to lack of access under the engine. Is there a way to get rid of Bravoitis from the outside of the transom, if I was to remove the outboard? It seems like access to the hole is easier from the rear, but can I bore out any issues from there?

A good & quick way to check . . . with the boat out of the water. . . would be to remove the inlet hose and angled barb fitting from the inside of the transom assembly. You will be looking for a powdery corrosion mess that has squashed the inlet hose fitting.

I find it very difficult to access the angled barb fitting from inside the transom. A lot of the engine is in the way. Seems easier to remove the outboard motor and check from the outside looking in. Is it possible to clean out Bravoitis through the outside part of the transom. I understand I would have to remove the outboard. Just seems easier that removing a lot of the engine to get it from the inside of the transom.

You will have to drop complete OD, including upper. AND, have a young friend whose arms are flexible to remove the inside stuff. I replaced both of mine with a kit that is supposed to minimize the crap from ever happening again. We'll see....

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... You have to access Both sides to fix it,.....

The biggest issue with workin' on boats is,.....
Ya gotta remove enough "Boat" to access whatever it is ya wanta fix,.....

If your in fresh water you probably have no issue with Bravoits
What is the issue your having and when did it start?
Is this a new to you boat?

To remove the hoses you need access to the screw fittings. with the drive off that one is easy the other is on the inside

There was a discussion on the Donzi site and the consensus was to plumb through the bottom of the hull and use a “Y” connection to to join the incoming water from the drive and the through hull to the pump, end of problem.
